I have been shooting and eating awesome cuisine as a food photographer for over 7 years in Johannesburg. Having had the opportunity to work with some wonderful campaigns & agencies, food stylists and chefs at wonderful locations.
After having practiced studio photography lighting and mastered various lighting situations, I have now moved to using natural light sources, this as the market has changed. Food should be captured with both emotion and leaving you with the hunger for that being displayed.
As a food photographer my goal is to create images that are dark and moody, I’m a huge fan of dark techniques where the saturation and colours of the food itself are allowed to take the stage. I do not use old methods of food styling and believe in the rule if you aren’t able to pick it up and eat it as it is, then you should not shoot it that way. you can book me at @ The Brand Institute.
